Mountain Bike Rides
There several great places to take your mountain bike around Morere. These are gravel road rides on roads that have few cars:
Nuhaka River Road (easiest - approx. 2 hours return)
Mangaone Road (hard on way up - approx 2 1/2 hours return - you can explore the caves when you get to the top.
Tunanui Road (hard climb, rolling country on top 2 1/2 - 3 hours return)
Old Mahanga Road (up to 6 hours return, depending on how far you go. This road will take you up the coast parallel to SH2 and has has beautiful coastal scenery).
Guided half-day rides are available at $50 per person
A short trip down the road, the Mangaone caves are free to explore.

Old School Cafe - Opoutama
A fun little cafe in Opoutama, about 15 minutes drive from the farm, and just 5 minutes from Mahia.
Open most days during the summer holidays, treat yourself to a great coffee, all day breakfast and freshly baked cakes and more.
The cafe is filled with historical photos and information on the history on Mahia and the local area. Stop in and learn more about the area. A playground also provides a fun break for the kids.
